MLB Update - Yankees replacement for Bartolo Colon in Lineup MLB Odds

13 June 2011
While the Yankees are recovering from right-hander Phil Hughes, Bartolo Colon's hamstring injury can land the veteran on the disabled list, forcing the club to dive into their pitching depth yet again.
Colon was scheduled to start next Thursday against Texas, so the Yankees have a few days before having to make a move. Candidates are skilled exit Andrew Brackman, Adam Warren and David Phelps. Of the trio, Brackman is the only one in the list of 40 players, further complicating the movement. The veteran Carlos Silva is on the disabled list at Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre and is now available.
The Yankees have given strong indications that Medellín Betances pitching prospects and Manny Banuelos are not options and will probably not be called to start the major league games right now. This position may force general manager Brian Cashman in the trade market sooner rather than later. Check out the latest MLB Odds from top Online Sportsbooks.
