Red Sox Look To Turn Early Season Woes Around Against Toronto Vegas Odds & Vegas Picks - The consensus team that improved the most since last year according to the online sports betting odds is the Boston Red Sox. However, with just two wins through their first 11 games of 2011, some are beginning to feel as though they may also be baseball’s most overrated. Boston has looked awful in the first month of the season, opening with consecutive series sweeps at the hands of the defending AL champion Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians, and nearly getting swept again by the Tampa Bay Rays before the third of their three-game set was postponed due to rain. The Red Rox will hope to regain that Fenway magic this upcoming weekend against a Toronto Blue Jays’ team that has looked incredible at times and awful at others. Canada’s baseball team won five of its first seven games, but has won just one of five since and will look to get things back on track in hostile territory beginning Friday.

The Red Sox Vegas Odds favorite this weekend will look to capitalize on the poor pay per head play of Toronto starter Brett Cecil to open the series, although Clay Buchholz hasn’t performed much better so far. Cecil enters the game with a 7.20 ERA after losses to both the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Angels. Despite a solid year in 2010, and a new contract extension early this season, Buchholz has an identical ERA through two starts although both losses came against a couple of the best hitting teams in baseball in the Rangers and New York Yankees. Expect Buchholz to get plenty of run support as the Red Sox bats come alive and get him his first win of 2011.

Josh Beckett rebounded nicely from a season-opening loss to Cleveland by shutting down the powerful Yankees through eight innings of work in a 4-0 win. Beckett tossed 10 strikeouts, a sign he is ready to bounce back into form. This game will be Boston’s chance to flex its depth in the starting rotation, and they will get the betting job done against Jo Jo Reyes for Toronto.

Boston will look to string three straight wins together with ace Jon Lester on the mound against Blue Jays’ starter Jesse Litsch. Lester has allowed three earned runs through his past two starts, but still doesn’t have a win. That will change Sunday afternoon as the Red Sox move to one game away from the series sweep.

For the first time in the series the Blue Jays will actually have the edge in the matchup of starting pitchers as they send their ace Ricky Romero to the mound.
