As #9 Oklahoma (10-2) prepares to battle #13 Nebraska (10-2) in the Dr. Pepper Big 12 Championship Game, a long history of epic battles presides this game, which could be one of the last as the Cornhuskers will depart for the Big Ten.

Oklahoma won the past three conference games, including a thrilling 47-41 win over Oklahoma State to wrestle the Big12 South crown away from the Cowboys. The Sooners feature a high octane offense, scoring 37.5 points per game, and have the 4^th ranked passing offense in college football. Gone are the days of the wishbone as quarterback Landry Jones has thrown for 34 TDs and nearly 4,000 yards including 1,391 to WR Ryan Broyles who has caught a whopping 115 balls. The Sooners passing game could be the difference in this contest as the Cornhuskers feature one of the best defenses in college football.

Any chance of Nebraska sneaking into the national championship picture was dashed by a 9-6 loss to Texas A&M on November 20^th but there is still plenty to play for in this rivalry game to decide a BCS Bowl berth. Unlike Oklahoma, the Huskers have a powerful ground game led by 1,100-yard rusher Roy Helu Jr, and quarterback Taylor Martinez who, with 26 yards, will be poised to be a 1,000 yard rusher and passer. Rex Burkhead has also gained 822 yards and 7 TDs. How the Huskers establish their ground game will go a long way toward deciding the outcome of this game.

Nebraska-Oklahoma should be a competitive game and the Sooners are a -4 point favorite. Which team establishes their game will determine the outcome of this contest with the edge going to Landry and the Sooners top-flight passing game.
