Super Bowl Sunday is an American tradition , a day meant for many Americans to sit back and enjoy a day full of festivities related to professional NFL football, a game that many loyal and not so loyal football fans look forward to each year. Super Bowl Sunday is full of celebrity entertainment, sports icons and a great football game which puts the seasons two best teams face to face. This years 2012 Super Bowl Sunday is going to be exceptionally exciting, as the New England Patriots [-3.5], marked as the home team, face off against one of their biggest rivals in the Giants of New York [+3.5] in Indianapolis.
This 2012 Super Bowl Sunday will be the first time in NFL history that the Super Bowl will be played in Indianapolis and it will be interesting to see how the fans of Indy react to little brother of Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning is still going to play football according to reports, NFL rumors were flying earlier this week that Peyton Manning was going to retire, due to a neck injury. Manning underwent surgery and failed to play for the 2011 NFL football season. So Indianapolis fans will have to cheer for little brother Eli Manning who is the well respected QB for the New York Giants.
One of the biggest features of Super Bowl Sunday is the television commercials, this year advertisers had to pay upwards of $4 million dollars per 30 second spot to be showcased during the events on Super Bowl Sunday. This years Super Bowl commercials will features ads from Pepsi, The X Factor, M&M's, Doritos and General Motors. This years new Super Bowl Sunday commercials will also feature a few new companies that have not made the leap in previous years. Danon and century 21 Real Estate will be new comers to the Super Bowl Sunday commercials ad space.
The first offical Super Bowl Sunday was on Jan 15th, 1967 and the green bay packers were the winners of the first time event, since then there have been 44 additional Super Bowl's which brings us to the 46th Super Bowl featuring the Giants vs Patriots. The New England Patriots have played on Super Bowl Sunday a total of seven times and have won the event four times, their last win coming in 2005 when they earned the win on Super Bowl Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The New York Giants most memorably beat the Patriots in 2008 and have made five appearances winning four of the five times.
