The New York Giants are the team to beat according to the current Super Bowl 2012 betting trends that show 54% of bettors taking the Giants to cover the Vegas point spreads. You never have to wonder why Super Bowl bets are coming in on the underdog, it is simply because everybody loves to see the underdog win. This year the New York Giants made another late season surge to win the division, with a win in their final game of the regular season. The New York Giants then went on to win three straight NFL predictions contests in the post season and once again find themselves facing the New England patriots in Super Bowl 2012.
The New York Giants performed well against-the-spread on the road early in the NFL betting season and then again in the NFL playoffs. In week 9 of the NFL schedule the New Yorks Giants defeated the New England Patriots as a -9 point favorite on the road with a final score of 24-20. A NFL picks contest that the Giants stalled the Patriots from their usual late game rally to win and mastered their own. The Giants win in week nine was earliy similar to their win over the Patriots the last time these to teams met in the Super Bowl.
In order for the Giants to earn another win over the Patriots in the Super Bowl 2012, their focus will need to be on stopping Tom Brady and his talented receiving squad. The Giants are going to need to limit both of New England's tight ends Gronkowski and Hernandez. Limiting Gronkowski maybe easier this time around though, as Gronkowski suffered an ankle injury n the Patriots win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Our Super Bowl 2012 predictions do not favor an underdog win this time around. Containing the Patriots passing game will be to difficult for the Giants this time around and they will get burned on more than one occasion by, Welker, Branch or even Ochocinco.
