College Football Predictions - USC Trojans Vegas Odds: The USC Trojan's football theam is supposed to be in shambles. Reggie Bush, O.J. Mayo, money, houses,cars and the possession of Bushs' 2005 Heisman Trophy, all hot topics and potential distractions. Due to sanctions levied by the NCAA, USC will not go to the Rose Bowl, BCS, or any other bowl game this year. One major poll ranks USC as the 16th best team in the country. The other major poll simply leaves USC out. Some may speculate that Karma is finally catching up with USC head coach Lane Kiffin.
USC won their week 1 College Predictions game 49-34 over the WAC's Hawaii Warriors. They are 19 1/2 point Vegas odds favorites to win this weeks College Predictions game at home vs. the Virginia Cavaliers. USC's offense scored 7 touchdowns in last week's win. Three of quarterback Matt Barkley's five touchdown passes were caught by receiver Ronald Johnson who also scored a TD on an 89 yard punt return. RB Marc Tyler ran for 154 yards on 17 carries to provide USC offensive balance.
USC's defense needs some work if the expect to win their College Prediction's season games. They gave up 588 yards in their win over the Warriors.
The USC football team has a chip on their shoulders, as they should. Despite the NCAA penalties and snubs from the pollster's, they are not going to roll over and play dead. The Trojan's PAC-10 games could determine the 2011 Rose Bowl and BCS Bowl participants. A loss to USC in the College Predictions week 8 could put a damper on the #8 ranked Oregon Duck's season and championship dreams.
Imagine at the end of the College Prediction's regular season that the USC Trojan's are 12-1, or 13-0? Talk about a BCS controversy! Maybe Boise State and USC can set up their own National Championship Game and leave the BCS out.
