UFC 121 Betting - Gonzaga, Schaub Step Into The Octagon UFC Picks & UFC Odds - While NFL betting lines will garner lots of attention, UFC betting Odds players will have a massive show on their hands this weekend when UFC 121 descends on Anaheim. The main event features heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar taking on Cain Velasquez, but there is another heavyweight tilt on the main card as Brendan Schaub faces Gabriel Gonzaga.
UFC Betting – Saturday, October 23rd, 8:00 PM ET - You know exactly what you’re going to get when Schaub (6-1, 6 KOs) is in the octagon: the fight probably isn’t going to last that long. All seven of Schaub’s UFC Picks fights have ended in the first round, and his longest fight was a 3:45 marathon with Roy Nelson in a loss in the finale of the “Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights”. Schaub, also known as “The Hybrid” is training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but his background is in boxing, and he’s all about using his hands. He may have to deal with nerves as this is his first time on the main card of a UFC PPV, and we’re thinking that he may have to use some of that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu against his versatile opponent.
Gabriel Gonzaga (11-5, 5 KOs) can knock you out cold, but he’s also versed in the ways of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, having been born in Rio de Janeiro, and he’s submitted six opponents. Gonzaga has a ton of experience in the octagon, and he may try to use Schaub’s nerves against him as he won’t be fazed by fighting on the main card of a PPV. Gonzaga badly needs a UFC Picks win as he has dropped two of his last three, albeit against such monsters as Shane Carwin and Junior Dos Santos. These are the fights that Gonzaga needs to win if he wants to be taken seriously in an increasingly-competitive heavyweight division. Bet on UFC 121 and receive $75 Free Join Here.
Your pay per head sportsbook has Gonzaga as a -160 UFC 121 Odds favorite in this clash of big men, and you have to think that it’s due to his experience: Gonzaga has seven fights and five years on Schaub, and he’s a lot more versatile. Gonzaga has fought a lot of different opponents from Randy Couture to Carwin, and he’s not going to be rattled by Schaub’s power. Schaub is going to try and end this Northbet fight quickly, and Gonzaga is fine with that as his last five fights have ended in the first round. But Gonzaga is going to be patient and wait for Schaub to show an opening, and the longer this fight goes, the more it will tip in Gonzaga’s direction. Schaub has been given a tough opponent in his first PPV card, and we don’t think it’s going to end well for him. Take Gabriel Gonzaga in your betting UFC 121 picks this weekend.
