NORMANDY INVASION, VYJACK and STREET SPICE have all been removed from the field for the 138th running of the Preakness Stakes.
NORMANDY INVASION is the most recent of the current Preakness contenders to be removed from the field. NORMANDY INVASION finished fourth in the Kentucky Derby and trainer Chad Brown as opted for rest for the 3 year old colt.
STREET SPICE was the first to be removed from the Preakness Stakes conteders list last Saturday. STREET SPICE was not an entry in the Kentucky Derby this year, but after opting out trainer Greg Geier will not get another chance to run STREET SPICE until the third race of the Triple Crown.
VYJACK was among the 2013 Preakness Stakes odds favorites with posted betting odds of 15/1 before he was scratched from the Preakness entries list. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez made the Maryland Jockey's club aware on Monday, May 13th, 2013 that VYJACK would not be entered into the 2013 Preakness.
