The San Diego Padre's picked the wrong time to go on a losing streak. The Padre's lost at home again on Sunday, 4-2, to the Colorado Rockie's, their 10th straight loss. Ten games ago, the Pad's were sitting on top of the world. They had the best record in the NL, chasing the New York Yankees for baseball's best record, and were a MLB Predictions projected winners of the NL West.
Times have changed dramatically for San Diego. If they continu to lose their MLB Prediction regular season games they fall out of first place and become the new NL's wild card leaders. A far stretch from ten games ago. The San Diego Padres are the favorite at -165 to win Monday's game at home vs. the Los Angles Dodgers.
In the American League, the Texas Ranger's, Tampa Bay Ray's and the beloved Yankee's have all but mathematically secured their spots in the MLB Prediction 2010 playoffs. The Rangers are only 3-7 in their last 10 games but the second place Oakland A's have only gained a game, going 4-6. We'll see...like in ten days.
New York plays at home vs. the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. Starting pitcher A.J. Burnett should get back in the win collum against the cellar dwelling Oriole's. MLB Predictions have the Yankee's at -230 favorites. Tampa Bay +155, and Texas +125 are both road underdogs,.....hmm.
Back to San Diego. The Padre's play their next 7 games at home. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday vs. the Dodgers. Thurday through Sunday vs. the San Francisco Giants in a possible show down for the NL West. If the Padre's continue to lose, it won't take 10 games this time.
