Eli Tomac riding for Kawasaki won the race at Tampa, Florida in Round 8 of the 2018 Supercross Betting Season which moves Tomac to the 7th position in the Supercross Stats. Jason Anderson on Husqvarna remains on top of the 2018 Point Standings with 181 points and Marvin Musquin on KTM now holds the second position with 142 with Blake Baggett also on KTM in third with 134 points. Throughout the Main Event Race, Tomac and Musquin traded the lead several times before Tomac was able to maintain the lead. Jason Anderson who started in the sixth position finished in the third position. Justin Hill made his 450SX debut in Tampa as a defending Western Regional 250SX Class Champion and dominated his Heat. Hill finished in the sixth position in the Main Event. Anderson took Heat Two followed by Tomac and Malcolm Stewart.
Team Honda HRC's rider, Cole Seeley, who entered the opening ceremony with his iphone on his helmet, crashed hard in Heat Two at Tampa. Seeley came up short while attempting to jump a quad in the long rhythm section after the start and went over the handlebar. Seeley's rear wheel landing on him to compound the accident. Seeley was immediately transported to the hospital. We learned on Sunday that Seeley had substantial damage to his abdominal wall, a pelvic injury that required surgery to including a plate and screws and additional screws to stabilize his sacrum. This is the second rider out of action for Team Honda this odds makers season. Ken Roczen did not race for the second time in the Supercross series.
Next stop is the Mercedes-Benz Stadiumin in Atlanta, GA to for Round 9 and the second race of the Triple Crown Format. Qualifying for the 450SX Series starts at 3:00 pm ET with the Last Chance Qualifier at 4:20pm. The opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 pm with the 450SX Main Event #1 Sighting Lap starting at 7:31pm, Main Event #2 at 8:30 and Main Event #3 at 9:31.
