2010-2011 NBA Predictions: Who Will Win it All? The NBA tipped-off this week with all 30 teams vying for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, some with more realistic chances of having a winning NFL picks season more than others.
No surprises as to which teams have the best Vegas odds of winning a championship. The Miami Heat at 17/10 odds and the Los Angeles Lakers at 5/2 odds are predicted to have the best chances of winning everything this NBA picks season.
Is there any team under more pressure than the Heat and any other player under more pressure than LeBron James? James leads an almost hand-picked starting five with Dwayne Wade at shooting guard, Carlos Arroyo at point guard, fellow free agent Chris Bosh at power forward, and Joel Anthony at center. The Heat also have an All-Star team on the bench including Eddie House, Udonis Haslam, Zydranus Ilgauskas, Juwan Howard, Jerry Stackhouse, and Mike Miller rounding out the roster. The Heat have modeled themselves off the 2008 Boston Celtics with their off-season acquisitions, having a Big 3 in James (29.7), Bosh (24 ppg), and Wade (26.6 ppg). Can James lead Miami back to the promised land? Anything less would be considered a disappointment.
For the Lakers, the talk is “three-peat” as in three consecutive championships. The starting five that raised the banner last year are back with Kobe Bryant at SG, Lamar Odom at power forward, Pau Gasol at center, Ron Artest at small forward, and Derek Fisher at point guard. An argument could be made at Bryant (27 ppg) is the best player in the NBA while Gasol might have made the biggest impact in the playoffs, scoring 19.6 ppg and 11.1 rebounds. Odom and Artest provided valuable scoring support with both nearing 11 points per game.
The Boston Celtics at 8/1, Orlando Magic at 13/1, and the surprising Oklahoma City Thunder at 12/1 are other NBA picks favorites.
