2010 NFL Schedule: Kansas City Chiefs NFL Picks, Predictions & Super Bowl Odds: With 90-1 Super Bowl odds, could the Kansas City Chiefs be the NFC's dark horse NFL pick for the 2010 NFL schedule? If you are looking for a dark horse to make your 2010 NFL predictions on in the race to the AFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl, take a look at the Kansas City Chiefs. With 60-1 NFL odds to win the AFC title at Sportsbook.com and a 4-win season in 2009, there wouldn’t seem much reason for optimism for their NFL predictions matchups, but the Chiefs have the parts to make a huge jump in 2010.
Improvement for the 2010 NFL schedule must start on defense where Kansas City finished in both rushing and passing yardage allowed. Defensive ends Tyson Jackson and Glenn Dorsey, former first round picks, must show improvement starting in their opening NFL predictions matchup against the Chargers. Demorrio Williams is a playmaking linebacker in the middle, and the Chiefs added a dynamic cornerback in first round draft choice Javier Arenas. Mike Vrabel, a winning player in New England, was a disappointment last year and must show improvement, as must fellow OLB Tamba Hali.
The offense will also need to step things up for the 2010 NFL schedule, running back Jamaal Charles was a major surprise, rushing for over 1,000 yards during the second half of the season. He’ll get a full NFL predictions season to show his wares, and now has a new running mate in ex-Jet Thomas Jones. A bolstered running back will be good news for quarterback Matt Cassel, who was under duress most of the 2009 NFL predictions season. He’ll have new protection in free agent guard Ryan Lilja, whose presence could stabilize a shaky offensive line, and a new receiving target in Jerheme Urban. The Chiefs will also need major contributions in this years NFL predictions season from receiver Dwayne Bowe, who had in off-season last year, and hope WR Chris Chambers has another year left in the tank.
All told, the Chiefs have long shots to win the 2011 Super Bowl, but in the weak AFC West, they have a chance to pile up NFL predictions victories against the Broncos and Raiders, and could be “one of those teams” in 2010.
