2010 NFL Predictions & NFL odds: Washington Redskins Looking to Make a Move in 2010: Should the Washington Redskins get your 2010 NFL predictions vote, to be an early selection for your NFL picks? Moving from an opening line set by Vegas odds makers of 25-1 to win the NFC Championship to 14-1 currently, Vegas odds makers predict the Washington Redskins to make a move up the standings in 2010. The major reason for 2010 NFL predictions optimism is the infusion of new blood in the form of an old foe as well as the leadership of a legendary coach. Quarterback Donovan McNabb now runs the offensive show and, perhaps more importantly, Mike Shanahan takes over as coach for fired Jim Zorn.
McNabb, acquired from NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles, heads a group of more than twenty new players brought in. Though he must learn a new system, McNabb brings confidence and skill to the quarterback position. Santana Moss is still a dangerous receiver and two younger receivers, Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly must improve their games. McNabb will love throwing Chris Cooley at tight end. After a down year in 2009, running back Clinton Portis is looking for a rebound year after being reunited with his old coach in Denver. Trent Williams, the #4 pick in the NFL draft, has been stationed as the starting left tackle, infusing the line with talent and toughness.
The defense needs to make more players and they need to get more from such players as OLB Andre Carter, DE Phillip Daniels, and strong safety LaRon Landry. The corners are strong with DeAngelo Hall and Carlos Rogers. The big NFL predictions question mark is DT Albert Haynesworth. He struggled through conditioning and has been nearly cut a few times. If he comes to play, that will mean a big lift.
With new leadership on the field and in the clubhouse, the Washington Redskins are optimistic that 2010 will be a rebound NFL predictions season and how quickly the team adjusts will go a long way to determining their success.
