NFL 2010 Preseason Schedule - Steelers vs New York Giants NFL Predictions & Vegas NFL Odds: The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to New York to visit the Giants in their new Meadowlands Stadium in the second NFL predictions matchup of the NFL odds preseason. NFL 2010 Preseason games are difficult to predict with players shuffling in and out and coaches busier evaluating talent than winning NFL picks matchups. The Giants are giving and here are a few things to watch in this week 2 NFL 2010 Preseason NFL predictions matchup:
NFL Odds 2010 Preseason: The View from Pittsburgh
Head coach Mike Tomlin stated in his weekly press conference stated that the starters will see approximately 24 snaps so expect to see Big Ben for the first time appearing with that group. Dennis Dixon was impressive in his first preseason NFL picks start and expect to see lots of him in the second half. Byron Leftwich, the probable opening day starter, was less than impressive and the Steelers need to see what they have in the veteran QB.
The Steelers will be working in Jonathan Scott at right tackle and rookie sensation Maurkice Pouncey at center for tonight's week 2 NFL 2010 preseason NFL predictions matchup. Many observers and those in the media think it is just a matter of time before Pouncey is the starting center. Scott is getting a look and that saws volumes on how the Steelers feel about Flozell Adams. He was that bad. Scott is huge, but can he play?
Stephan Logan set the Steelers’ all-time record for kick-off return yardage, which is remarkable considering he did not score a TD and rarely tilted the field in the Steelers favor with long returns. Logan is a man without a position and if Antonio Brown, the sixth round choice out of Central Michigan, does well as a returner, Logan will not be on the squad in September.
NFL Odds 2010 Preseason: The View from New York
Head coach Tom Coughlin announced that his franchise QB Eli Manning will not play in this week 2 NFL predictions matchup. Manning got 12 stitches in his forehead after getting a three-inch gash to his head. He did not suffer a concussion but the stitches prohibit Manning from wearing a helmet.
Brett Bomar, the Giants third-string QB, will start in Manning’s place. If the Steelers were playing the Giants in a regular season NFL predictions matchup you expect to see a ton of blitzes and disguised coverage but, in the preseason, the Steelers usually play a fairly vanilla brand of “D” so Bomar might get a break. Bomar will play a lot because Jim Sorgi, the second-string QB is also nursing an injury.
Guard Chris Snee is also out for tomorrow night’s game but will get back injured starters linebacker Keith Bullock and safety Kenny Phillips.
Week 2 NFL 2010 Prediction:
With Manning out, Pittsburgh to win this NFL predictions matchup by 6.
