Cleveland Browns vs Detroit Lions NFL 2010 Predictions, NFL picks & Betting Odds: Preseason NFL 2010 predictions show the Detroit Lions are 2.5 point NFL picks favorites. Lions vs. Browns will do battle in a Saturday evening NFL predictions match-up in week 3 of the NFL Preseason. Watch for the Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field in Detroit.
The Lions come into the August 28 NFL odds game with a 1-1 NFL predictions record in the 2010 preseason, losing at Pittsburgh against the Steelers 23-7 and then surprising the Denver Broncos 25-20 on their own home field in Denver.
This NFL predictions game is a rematch of that wild week 11 match-up, a 38-37 Lions’ victory at home on quarterback Matthew Stafford’s last second touchdown toss.
In preseason NFL odds game 3, traditionally many of the starters play a half and more and expect the young Lions to play a lot of snaps, still looking to build a winning team. Vegas odds show Matthew Stafford will have a good match-up against the Browns secondary with WR Calvin Johnson. Johnson presents match-up problems for many teams and the Browns secondary did come-on in the second half of 2010, but expect to see Johnson running free throughout the first half. Look for Drew Stanton to run the show at quarterback in the second half as the Lions try to figure out what they have in the ex-Michigan State star. You might also see a healthy dose of Jahvid Best, the Lions rookie running back. With starter Kevin Smith nursing a slight injury, Vegas odds predict, best to get some carries, especially with the moose in the middle, ex-Lion Shaun Rogers questionable for the game.
The Lions were terrible in 2009, NFL Predictions had them finishing last or next to last in virtually every meaningful defensive category. The Lions have infused some talent on the D-Line with ex-Titan Kyle Vanden Bosch and #1 NFL draft pick DT Ndamukong Suh from the University of Nebraska. Vanden Bosch, in particular, got after the Steelers QBs in NFL preseason Picks, week one. NFL Predictions expect more of the same this week, especially since Vegas odds show the Browns’ QB, Jake Delhomme, doesn’t react well to pressure. The Lions must stop the run, something they couldn’t do in 2009, or Jerome Harrison and the other Browns backs could have a big night. Look for Delhomme to throw a lot, since the Lions didn’t pass defend well either, as their new quarterback works on timing with his receivers.
The over-under in this game is 40 so look for lots of scoring early while the first-teamers play.
