In week four of the NFL season, the Tennessee Titans visit the Denver Broncos in an important AFC conference match-up. Vegas odds have placed the Titans as -6 1/2 point favorites in this clash between two teams that could be headed in opposite directions.
The defense of Tennessee (2-1) has played well all season and dominated against the New York Giants last week, pitching a shut-out in the second half and forcing three turnovers. Linebacker Stephen Tulloch led the team with 13 tackles and rookie linebacker Will Witherspoon had a dynamic game with 3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 pass defended. The Titans rotate defensive linemen and the safety tandem of Cortland Finnegan and Chris Hope are active and feisty.
Denver (1-2) put-up 31 points against the Seattle Seahawks but were limited to 13 and 17 points in their other two losses. In their latest loss to the Colts, quarterback Kyle Orton went crazy with 476 passing yards but, despite 20 passing first downs and 519 total yards, they could only manage 13 points. The Broncos were 0-5 in the red zone and committed two turnovers. Brandon Lloyd caught six passes for 169 yards and a touchdown while Jabar Gaffney caught 12 passes for 140 yards but it just wasn’t enough. The Broncos had less than 50 yards rushing and were forced to throw.
Tennessee will bring pressure and look for turnovers against Orton while they should generate enough offense to cover the score and could win in double-digits.
