Week 5 NFL Picks 2010 - Indianapolis vs Kansas City Vegas Odds & NFL Predictions: Who would have thought that this week 5 NFL picks 2010 contests would be one of the games of the week when the NFL picks season started? But, in week five of the NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Kansas City Chiefs has become an intriguing NFL predictions match-up. Vegas odds have placed the Colts as -7(-110) point NFL picks favorite at home.
Kansas City (3-0) has forged their early season undefeated NFL picks record on the strength of their special teams and surprising defense. The Chiefs have the 5th best run defense in the NFL but have struggled against the pass, ranking 25th overall, and that is bad news against Peyton Manning and the Colts. However, going back to his days with the Patriots, Romeo Crennell, the Chiefs defensive coordinator, has had success crafting defenses against the Peyton and his offense. Crennell has players such as linebacker Derrick Johnson, rookie safety Eric Berry, and Tamba Hali at a high level. The defense has only generated four turnovers (one a touchdown return by Brandon Flowers) and returners Javier Arenas and Dexter McCluster have made big plays on special teams, including a punt-return for touchdown by McCluster.
Indianapolis (2-2) has a disappointing .500 record but at no fault of their 2nd ranked passing game. Peyton Manning has been as good as ever, averaging over 300 yards passing a game, and once again Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark are his favorite targets. A third receiver has emerged, though, and Austin Collie has caught 32 balls for five touchdowns. Collie has been able to get open as defenses have rotated to cover Wayne and Clark. The running game, though, has been inconsistent, and the Colts could not close out the game against the Jags last week.
Can Kansas City keep it going and earn a week 5 NFL picks 2010 victory today? The NFL odds, including Vegas odds, are against the Chiefs from keeping their winning streak alive as the Indianapolis Colts bounce back, cover the NFL spread, and get back on the winning track.
