Dallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings Vegas Odds, 2010 NFL Predictions & NFL Picks

Dallas-RomoDallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings Vegas Odds, 2010 NFL Predictions & NFL Picks: After the week six NFL predctions match-up in the NFL season between the Dallas Cowboys (1-3) and the Minnesota Vikings (1-3), one team will be nearly buried in the NFC conference playoff race while the other team will see its NFL picks season possibly salvaged. Vegas odds makers have installed the Vikings as -1½(-110) point NFL predictions favorites at home against the Cowboys.

The last time these two teams played in a NFL picks contest it was Minnesota that prevailed in the NFC playoffs, winning the NFL predictions battle 34-3. Much has changed for the Vikings since that January day. The Minnesota offense, that was so prolific last NFL football season, has struggled to score points, averaging just 15.3 points per game. Injuries and ineffectiveness has hampered the Vikings passing game and has limited Brett Favre’s ability to make plays downfield, though he seems to have no problem making plays in other areas of his life. Enter Randy Moss. Acquired in a trade with the Patriots, Moss made an immediate impact with 4 catches, 81 yards, and a 37-yard touchdown from Favre. In fact, Favre threw three touchdowns against the Jets and the two legends could have an even better this week as they have had a full week to practice. Adrian Peterson has been a bright spot for this offense this NFL picks season, gaining 480 yards and averaging 5.5 yards per carry. On defense, surprisingly teams have been able to run on the Vikings while the pass defense has been solid.

Dallas has had no problems throwing the ball this NFL predictions, Tony Romo and company rank #3 in the NFL in passing yardage. Romo has completed more than 68% of his passes and has tossed 7 touchdown passes. He has spread the ball around to a bevy of talented receivers in Miles Austin, Roy Williams, Jason Whitten, and Dez Bryant. The running game, though, has struggled, with Felix Jones leading the team with under 200 yards rushing and the team has only scored 1 rushing touchdown in 2010. The Cowboys are statistically average on both pass and rush defense this NFL picks season but have made precious few big plays, though DeMarcus Ware has made 6 sacks so far.

Minnesota, at home, has enough weapons with Favre, Peterson, and Moss to win a NFL predictions contest they must not lose. Dallas needs this win just as badly and has just as many weapons. The Vikings defense makes just a few more plays and they win a tightly-contested ball game.
