There’s a lot of history between these two teams as they have gone head to head a total of 116 times, including 3 postseason games and the Patriots lead the series 61-54-1.
The Jets coming off a win against the Browns last week by a margin of a field goal. New York’s QB Josh McCown completed 23 of 30 passes for 194 yards and 2 TDs. Offensively the rushing game was almost non-existent with 34 net rushing yards. Receiving the Jets put up 178 yards with Kerley at 39 yards, Kearse at 38 yards and Tomlinson, Serafin-Jenkins and Pwell with 34, 28 and 28 respectively. McCown targeted almost every receiver that hit the field. The Jets defense held their opponent to a 42% third down efficiency and a 50% 4th down efficiency but allowed 4 first downs by penalty. The defense also allowed a total net yards of 419 by the Browns but still pulled off the win.
The Jets defense might not want to allow the Patriots that type of yardage or they could see a totally different outcome in this Week 6 NFL betting matchup.
