Sports Authority Field at Mile High is the backdrop for the Week 10 NFL Sunday Night Football game. The New England Patriots (6-2), laisted as the Vegas odds favorite, will face the Denver Broncos (3-5) in an AFC Divisional matchup.
The Patriots had a bye in week 9 after a win against win over the Chargers in week 8. The Patriots have also resigned Brian Hoyer as a backup quarterback under Brady. In return the 49ers got Garoppolo. Another side note is Shea McClellin who can be activated as late as Saturday at 4pm and play on Sunday. The Patriots need more help on the edge and McClellin has shown that he can do the job. Tom Brady threw for 333 yards and 1 touchdown toRob Gronkowski against the Chargers. Stephen Gostkowski went 4 for 6 on field goals and hit the game’s only extra point for a total of 13 points.
The Patriots defeated the Broncos in Denver in December 2016 the last time these two teams played but the Broncos lead the overall series with a 30-22-0 record. The Vegas odds makers lists the New England Patriots as favorites at -7 ½ (-115) and the Denver Broncos as the home dogs at +7 ½ (-105). The game total is listed as 46 (-110) for the over/under bettor.
The Denver Broncos will keep Brock Osweiler as the starting quarterback against the Patriots despite the lashing Denver took in week 9 by the Philadelphia Eagles. Coach Vance Joseph benched Trevor Siemian after turnovers and bad decisions but he says that Osweiler has “earned the opportunity” to prove he can lead Denver’s offense. Denver’s offense has gone south since their week 2 win over the Cowboys.
Sunday night is a game that Denver has to win if they want to turn things around but can this 17th ranked offense get passed the #32 ranked defense in the league. If they do then the defense better be ready for the #1 offense in the league the New England Patriots.
