NFL Wild Card Round stats and odds; Atlanta at Los Angeles

Falcons Free Pick, Betting Trends and Vegas Odds | Atlanta vs Rams Wild Card

Saturday Night Postseason football at the Los Angeles Coliseum where the Atlanta Falcons will take on the Los Angeles Rams in a battle to gain a spot in the Divisional Round Playoffs.  The Atlanta Falcons (10-6) ended the regular season 3rd in the NFC South.  The Los Angeles Rams (11-5) are 1st in the NFC West.  The Falcons (+235) have won the last three matchups between these two top teams dating back to 2010.

The Falcons offense and defense are ranked 8th and 9th respectively in the league.  QB Matt Ryan completed 20 passing touchdowns during the regular season with 4,095 passing yards on a  64.7 completion percentage.  Ryan can also had 143 rushing yards.  Julio Jones with 88 receptions for 1,444 yards assists the Falcons in getting down the field and scored 3 touchdowns.  Devonta Freeman had 7 touchdowns on his 865 rushing yards, the most touchdowns for the team by one player. Freeman is also good down field with 317 passing yards and an additional touchdown.  Both Jones and Freeman are listed on the injury report for the wild card weekend but the game status is a secret.  The Vegas odds makers favorite is the Los Angeles Rams at -6(-115) and the Atlanta Falcons as the road dogs at +6(-105).  For the over/under bettor the game total is listed at 48 ½ (-110).

The Rams (-275) offense comes into the playoff ranked 10th and the defense at 19th.  QB Jared Goff passed for 28 touchdowns and 3,804 yards this regular NFL season and 51 rushing yards. Goff in his second year as QB has owned the number one spot as passer since week 9.  RB Todd Gurley rushed 279 times for 1,305 yards and 13 touchdowns then added 788 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.   Ryan can also target Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods or Sammy Watkins who completed 18 touchdowns collectively.

Offensively and defensively the Rams and Falcons ended the season almost neck and neck in the stats.  The Rams might have an advantage as they are ranked 1st in points scored at the start of the postseason betting.  Rams 1st year head coach Sean McVay has turned this down and out 2017 team in to a practically unstoppable point generating team.  The Falcons posses a lot of postseason experience with 36 players playing in 174 January games. This is a Wild Card Round game that no one should miss.  Will the Falcons, with all this talent, be able to show that the Super Bowl meltdown of last year was a fluke or will the rams continue to be the defense and rack up the scoring.  Tune into the action on NBC and don’t be late.  The kickoff is slated for 8:15 pm ET.
