The New England Patriots vs the Tennessee Titans in an AFC Divisional Round matchup and one step closer to the Super Bowl. The 1st seed Patriots who clinched the division and the home field advantage in the AFC East had a bye last week while the Tennessee Titans 2nd in AFC South were running over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The New England Patriots (-1000) with their first ranked offense was called to practice in one of the roughest New England's storms this week. Thanks to lead of quarter back and five time Super Bowl Champion, Tom Brady, the Patriots have once again found themselves amongst the best of the best. Brady had an outstanding season passing for 4,577 yards and 32 touchdowns. When the rushing plays are called, Dion Lewis, Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead have scored the touchdowns. The Patriots D on the other hand have stats that look ugly. The defense has worked hard and has made improvements as of late. They have the skills to stop a freight train if they put their hearts in it. The Vegas odds makers favorite is the New England Patriots at -14(-105) and the Tennessee Titans as the road dogs at +14(-115). The game total is 47(-110) for the over/under bettor.
The Tennessee Titans who have lost the last three games between the two played hard last week. RB Derrick Henry ran through the Kansas City defense for 156 yards and 23 carries, 151 of which were in the second half of the game. QB Marcus Mariota had to work failed passing plays with his feet. Mariota even went as far as passing to himself for a touchdown. Albeit that play was not intentional. Mariota ended the game with two passing touchdowns on 205 yards and ran for 46 yards. Henry was called to step up when DeMarco Murray was side lined with an injury. Henry was ready to bring his game. The receiving stats were practically non-existent. Delainie Walker had 6 receptions for 74 yards and Corey Daviis 35 total yards. The defense of the Titans has allowed 38 less total yards per game then the Pats but 4 more points.
