NHL Hockey: Pittsburgh vs. NY Islanders

Looks like the Pittsburgh Penguins (31-15-4) will still not have captain Sidney Crosby on the ice as they come-off the All-Star break and face the New York Islanders (15-27-7) at home on Wednesday night.
Crosby did not skate with his team in practice prior to Monday night’s game against the New York Rangers and still does not look like he is ready to return to action after suffering a concussion in early January.
The lack of the National Hockey League’s leading scorer has put a damper on the Penguins high-flying offense but they are still tied for second in the Eastern conference with 154 goals and feature dangerous defenseman Kris Letang (7 goals, 41 points).
The Islanders, though looking-up at the Penguins, in the Atlantic Division standings have played Pittsburgh tough all season, including the last time the two teams met. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stood on his head to get a rare shutout for him in a 1-0 victory but the Islanders proved their mettle. Young John Tavares leads the team in virtually every offensive category and forward Matt Moulson provides some secondary scoring. Young Michael Grabner grabbed some headlines at the NHL All-Star skills competition with his skating speed and the young rookie has 15 goals this season.
The Penguins have done well against the Islanders over the years and should win this game at the Consol Energy Center but not without a fight from this young bunch of scrappers.
