Can a Belmont Stakes odds longshot take the win at the 2011 Belmont Stakes?

 

Online Belmont Stakes Odds players will be looking for a longshot to ride, especially after Animal Kingdom came out of nowhere to win the Kentucky Derby, but he has established himself as the favorite for the final jewel in the Triple Crown, and there are other esteemed horses behind Animal Kingdom, such as Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford, Derby runner-up Nehro and Mucho Macho Man, so finding a darkhorse could be tough. Could Isn’t He Perfect be that horse?

It’s easy to see why Isn’t He Perfect isn’t getting that much attention in terms of horse betting odds, as he has two wins in 13 races: one was his maiden win in November 2010 at Aqueduct, and another non-graded race at Aqueduct in March. He has been in four graded-stakes races, coming in sixth in the Grade-3 Gotham Stakes, fifth in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial and Grade 2 Jerome Handicap, and then ninth at the Preakness, which is a Grade 1 race, of course. The Preakness is the longest race in which Isn’t He Perfect has run, and he gave a decent account of himself, but a lot of experts don’t think he’s ready for primetime yet.

 

However, there are some other factors that could sway you before making your selection, and those making NFL betting picks will tell you that you have to cover all of your bases when it comes to research. The sire of Isn’t He Perfect, Pleasantly Perfect, is a horse that got better as he got older, and he won a few races that were at least 1-1/4 miles. Isn’t He Perfect seems to be bred to run over distance, even though he hasn’t exactly shown it yet, and we may not be seeing the best of Isn’t He Perfect for a while, at least a year. But why not put him the Belmont and see how it goes?

 

Isn’t He Perfect comes in at +4000 2011 Belmont Stakes Odds, the lowest of the horses rated in the Belmont Stakes, and you shouldn’t expect much from him in this race. He did nothing in the Preakness to make you think that he could win the Belmont, although his runs in the Wood Memorial and Jerome Handicap are intriguing enough that you may want to put a little something on him. Stranger things have happened in horse racing, but the consensus that there is too much talent in front of Isn’t He Perfect, particularly in the lead group of horses, for him to pull out an amazing win.
