Belmont Park will host the William Entenmann Memorial Hurdle Stakes on Thursday, September 21, 2017 for a $75,000 purse.  The course is a 2 ¼ miles on hurdle for 4 year olds and up which have not won over hurdles prior to March 1, 2016 or which have never won three races, other than three-year old. 

The Belmont betting odds for the Hurdle Stakes show Mutasaawy at 7/2, while Moscato (2/1) and No Wunder (4/1) are the closest contenders with the best betting odds.

Starting on Post 1 is No Wunder from Great Britain with Jockey Jack Doyle with 7 starts placing in 2 firsts, 2 seconds and 1 third place finish.  Post 2 New Member from Ireland with Danny Mullins starting in 3 races placing in 1 third.  Post 3 has Lachares also from Ireland with Jockey Shane Crimin in his first race of the 2017 horse betting season with a money line of 5/1.  Post 4 is held by Surprising Soul from Ontario with Jockey Ross Geraghty with 5 starts placing 1st three times and 1 3rd.  Post 5 has Mutasaawy from Kentucky with Jockey Darren Nagle this 7 year old gelding has started in 5 races and finished with 2 firsts and 2 seconds.  The latest being an Allowance at Saratoga on 8-16-17 and a Maiden Special Weight in July both 1st place finishes.  Moscato from Great Britain will race from the 6th post with Jockey Sean McDermott.  This 6 yr old gelding has started in 5 races and placed in all 5 with 3 first place wins and 2 second.  Post 7 has Zio Elio from New York led by Jockey Bernard Dalton with 4 starts which include 1 win in a Maiden Special Weight and a 2nd place in an Allowance race.  Lastly Post 8 is held by Kensington Court from Kentucky with Jockey Mark Watts.  He is a 5 y/o gelding with a money line of 10/1.  Wagers are Exacta, Trifecta (.50). Super (.10), Pick 3 races (1-3) and Double Wagers.
