The Skeleton competition is underway at the 2018 Winter Olympics. The Skeleton is a toboggan that an athlete lies on head first and face down as they slide down an ice track at an average speed of 120 km/hr under the pressure of four times gravity. The Skeleton began as an olympic event in 1928 but was removed after the 1948 Olympic games because of the dangers to athletes. In 2002 at the Salt Lake City Olympics the Skeleton was reinstated and a woman's event was added.
The six Official Training Heats for the men has finished and Korea YUN Sungbin (-5000) has the current start record and Latvia Martins Dukurs holds the current track record. The results of the Vegas odds training heats show the odds makers favorite YUN Sungbin (KOR) starting 1st. Axel Jungk (GER) in the second position (+5000) and Tomass Dukurs with the 3rd start (+4000). The odds makers list Nikita Trgubov (AOR) for the Silver Medal at +1600 and Martins Dukurs (LAT) for the Bronze at +1800. The Men's Skeleton Gold Medal Heat is scheduled for Friday, February 16th.

The Vegas odds makers favortie for the Gold Medal is Jacqueline Loelling (GER) at +200, Lizzy Yarnold (GBR) for the Silver Medal at +400 and Janine Flock (AUT) for the Bronze Medal at +500. Flock fiinished the Training Heats in 9th. The Women's Gold Medal event is scheduled for Saturday, February 17th. The Skeleton is a sport that is fast paced and exhilarating to watch.
